@Scott: Yeah, Windows is the only operating system with proper ASS/SSA support, I don't know if it is possible on Linux. It's certainly not possible with recent builds since the last person to develop ASS/SSA support in MPlayer left a year or so ago so it has since broken, but maybe you can find an older version of MEncoder for Linux that supports it.
If you do find that, please let me know since we are planning to include the Linux version of MEncoder in future versions of PS3MS instead of relying on the user to have their own one.

I dont know if this is a bug or me not understanding how the Linux version works but ASS/SSA subs arnt working for me. In windows you can check the ASS/SAA option and subs are perfect. Under Linux(which I changed my server to) if I check that box I do not get subtitles at all on MKV. I tried unchecking it and doing container == matroska :: -ass in advanced settings with same result, no subtitles. If I do not do either i get subs but they are not styled and i get timing information and it covers the whole screen.

What I have figured out is if I start and mkv file from the terminal with -ass the file will play in mplayer correctly. If I try and just use mplayer to play the file from the file manager it gives me the ssame thing I see with pms.

So I know it works flawlessly under windows. I know mplayer can do it correctly under linux with the -ass tag. Im not understanding why trying to manual do it in advanced or checking your option results in no subtitles.

Not sure if this is a bug or me but thanks for reading and any light you could shed would be super. Ill watch this like a hawk!
